Bluebeam: Issue with opening PDF files
print icon

Sometimes you may have an issue with Bluebeam, you try to open but it does not open, then you try to open PDFs and they do not open or it takes multiple clicks to make it open.  This issue is typically related to some incorrect permissions on your Windows user temp folders and/or there is a second instance of Revu running in the task manager.

In both scenarios, be sure to end all the Revu.exe in Task Manager.

Follow the steps below to end Revu.exe in Task Manager:

  1. Hold down [CTRL+ALT+DELETE] on your keyboard together, then release.
  2. Left-click Task Manager
  3. Left-click the "Details" tab
  4. Find the item(s) in the list called "Revu.exe" (If you don't see any, you can skip the rest of these steps and move to the next
  5. Highlight the item by left-clicking it, then press the End Task button on the bottom right of the Task Manager window.
  6. You will be prompted "Do you want to End Revu.exe process", left-click End Task.
  7. Repeat steps 4 - 6 until you have ended all instances of "Revu.exe" in the list.

Now try to open Bluebeam once more to replicate the issue.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, we created a simple script that will reset these permissions, which should resolve the issue.

Please see below for instructions:

  1. Extract the file from the attached Temp_Reset_BAT.zip to a folder on your hard drive.
  2. Right-click on 'Temp_Reset.BAT', then click Run as administrator.
  3. Follow the prompts that appear in the window that will display, if any.
  4. After the window closes, delete Temp_Reset.BAT
  5. After that, go ahead and open Bluebeam Revu.

This should resolve this Bluebeam issue, if it did not please contact IT Support and make them aware that the above steps did not resolve your issue.
