Please follow the steps below to verify your Antivirus software is installed/enabled and running on your machine.
- Download the "antivirus_checker.zip" file attached to the bottom of this article.
- Unzip this file to extract the "antivirus_checker.bat" file. To do this, open the the download folder, right-click on the ZIP file, and left-click "Extract."
- Right-click on the "antivirus_checker.bat" file and left click on Properties.
- If you see an option to Unblock, click that and OK.
- Double-left click the "antivirus_checker.bat" file.
Note: You may be prompted with a blue window saying "Windows protected your PC" and that this file is an unrecognized app. This is ok. Left-click on the "More info" link, then left-click "Run Anyway" button. - You will see the VBC welcome screen shown on the command prompt. Press any key to continue.
- Under Antivirus Status, look for Windows Security and TrendMicro Status. If you do not see TrendMicro populate in these fields please submit an IT ticket to the IT Department and include the Antivirus that did populate, if any, so that we may assist you with installing TrendMicro.
- Press any key to continue.
- If TrendMicro was detected, it will launch and show "Protection Enabled. You are protected and your software is up to date." If you see this message, your Antivirus software is enabled and running. If you do not see this message please continue to Step 10.
- Update your Antivirus software by clicking on the "Update" button. Once the update is complete you should now see "Protection Enabled. You are protected and your software is up to date." If you do not see this message please submit an IT ticket to the IT Department with the alternate message included, so that we may assist you.
